About ShiftTally

ShiftTally is a small set of free time card and work-hours calculators built for the people who actually total hours: hourly workers checking a paycheck, small employers running payroll without dedicated software, and freelancers billing by the hour.

Why we built it

Most time card calculators online fall into two camps. Some are decades old, cover a single scenario, and break the moment you have an overnight shift or a second break. Others are lead-capture pages for payroll software that ask you to sign up before you can export anything. We wanted one clean tool that handles every common case — lunch breaks, overnight shifts, the 7-minute rounding rule, weekly and biweekly and monthly periods, decimal output — and never asks for an account.

How it works

Every calculation runs in your browser with plain JavaScript. When you type a punch, the math happens on your device. Your entries are saved to your browser's local storage so a refresh does not lose your work, and they stay there until you clear them. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account to create. When you print a timesheet or export a CSV, the file is generated locally and downloaded straight to your device.

What you can do here

A note on accuracy

ShiftTally gives you estimates to check your own hours and pay. It is not a substitute for your employer's official payroll system, and it does not encode every local labor law. Overtime, break, and rounding rules vary by country, state, and workplace. Always confirm important figures against your pay records and the rules that apply to you.
